The YATO YT-2862 digital voltage tester is designed for measuring AC voltage within a range of 12 to 250 volts. Featuring an LCD display, this device allows users to ascertain the presence of AC voltage and detect it using both contact and non-contact methods.
FUNCTIONS OF THE TESTER
CONTACT METHOD
Apply the tester to a live component. The display will show the voltage values, and the LED will light up, indicating the flow of electric current through this element. The indicator will display the highest voltage range for the circuit under test and any lower ranges. For example, when measuring the voltage from a 230V household outlet, the display will show [12, 36, 55, 110, 220], which indicates a voltage above 220V.
INDUCTIVE METHOD
This method allows you to detect AC voltage in an insulated wire. To do this, place your finger on the "Induction Test" field and bring the tip close to the insulated wire. The presence of a lightning bolt symbol on the LCD display indicates voltage. This method also allows for non-contact detection of a break in a live electric wire. At the point of the break, the tester will stop signaling the presence of voltage.
