The STHOR soldering iron 79366 features a traditional design with a resistance heater that connects directly to a wall outlet. Its straightforward design ensures high reliability; with proper care for the soldering tip, this tool can last for many years. The 40 W power is sufficient for effectively soldering two copper wires or basic electronic components in through-hole assembly technology.

The soldering iron heats up to 350°C in just 3 to 4 minutes.
Care Instructions for the Soldering Iron Tip
The tips of STHOR soldering irons are coated to reduce oxidation. Prolonged heating and mechanical damage can degrade this protective layer, leading to oxidation that hinders proper melting of solder. A good practice is to tin the tip; when warming up the soldering iron, apply a small amount of solder to the tip and wipe off the excess with brass shavings to form a protective layer. It is advisable to tin the tip after each use.
Important Safety Note
Soldering irons that connect directly to a wall outlet should be equipped with a grounding pin and should be connected to a grounded outlet to prevent electrical hazards. Failure to ground the metal housing of the heater poses a risk of electrocution and burns. All STHOR soldering irons include a grounded plug for safety.
