The YATO Soldering Gun 180W (model YT-8245) is a powerful and efficient tool designed for soft soldering of metal materials using tin or tin-lead alloys.
This versatile soldering gun is ideal for connecting components with larger cross-sections, making it perfect for automotive wiring or low-voltage household installations.
The YT-8245 transformer soldering iron boasts an impressive power output of 180W, crafted from high-quality materials and featuring an ergonomic design. It includes spot lighting to illuminate the work area, along with a non-slip handle that enhances comfort during use. The tool heats up quickly, reaching a temperature of approximately 350°C in just 15 seconds with the initial soldering tip for efficient work.
This soldering iron set comes with three interchangeable tips, a rosin, and soldering tin, providing everything needed to get started. The high heat capacity of the supplied tips ensures effective use, especially for unsoldering components from large soldering joints or connecting thicker wires. When using a basic shaped tip, the heating time is reduced to a mere 10 seconds.
Care Instructions: To maintain the longevity and effectiveness of your soldering tip, avoid unnecessary overheating and mechanical damage, as these can degrade the protective coating and lead to oxidation. It is recommended to tin the soldering tip whenever you heat it to ensure optimal performance.
An effective practice is to apply a bit of solder on the tip when first warming it up and remove the excess with brass wool. This forms a protective layer against oxidation.
Usage Note: A transformer soldering iron relies on intermittent operation technology, making it relatively compact. To achieve the best performance, follow this usage guideline: 12 seconds of continuous soldering with a 48-second break. Exceeding this time frame may lead to overheating and decreased efficiency. A traditional transformer for continuous use at 180W would be significantly heavier and resemble a small welder rather than a handheld soldering gun.
