The YATO YT-73083 Digital Multimeter with TRUE RMS function allows you to perform both basic and advanced electrical measurements, making it an essential tool for electricians and hobbyists alike. This multimeter measures AC and DC currents up to 20 amps, and its large LCD screen with a blue backlight ensures readability even in low light conditions.

Measurement Accuracies:

For example, when determining the accuracy for an AC voltage measurement with a result of 235 V:

  • Measurement accuracy of the YT-73083 meter for this range is: ±(1.2% + 8), resolution 0.1 V
  • Calculation of measurement error formula: (measurement result x 1.2%) + 8 x resolution
  • Calculation: (235 x 1.2%) + 8 x 0.1 = 2.82 + 0.8 = 3.62 V

The actual result including measurement error for a 235 V indication is 235 ± 3.62 V.

  • Result including measurement error for DC voltage measurement indication: 12 V = 12 ± 0.126 V
  • Result including measurement error for AC current measurement indication: 8 A = 8 ± 0.15 A

Built-in Functions:

  • TRUE RMS - This feature displays the true RMS value of AC voltage. Unlike averaging meters, true RMS devices provide accurate values for distorted waveforms such as those affected by higher harmonics or square/triangular waveforms. This function is crucial for applications involving impulse power supplies, motor inverter drives, HVAC systems, etc.
  • SELECT - Changing the measurement mode, e.g., switching from diode test to circuit continuity test.
  • DATA HOLD - Maintains the currently measured value on the display.
