MMA 200A PFC inverter welder by YATO, model YT-81358, is equipped with a power factor correction module and offers advanced features including DC TIG LIFT welding with pulse. The PFC module minimizes interference with the mains and reduces reactive energy consumption, allowing you to maximize the welder's potential (maximum amperage) even over a 50-meter extension cord. This welder is suitable for rutile, cellulose, and alkaline electrodes.
Basic Information:
PFC Module:
This module lowers energy consumption and reduces current harmonics. The YT-81358 operates at 7.1 kVA at its maximum setting of 200 A. A welder without the PFC module drawing the same current would consume around 9.9 kVA. This significant difference in power (almost 3 kVA more at 230 volts) presents a challenge for both the electrical system and generators, often preventing the maximum amperage from being achieved due to tripping circuit breakers, high voltage drops, or generator throttling.
Functions:
Function Descriptions:
DC Pulse: This allows the welding current to alternate between base and peak levels in a controlled manner. This feature minimizes overall heat input to the metal being welded and reduces spatter. It is particularly useful for welding highly conductive materials and thin metals without risk of burning. Narrower and deeper welds are achievable on thicker materials. The YT-81358 offers an adjustable pulse frequency from 1 to 100 Hz, with peak and base current settings between 10 to 50%.
Hot Start: This function temporarily increases the welding current when the electrode is applied to the material, aiding in arc ignition. The YT-81358 allows adjustment of this function from 0-50% and its duration from 0.0 to 2.0 seconds.
Arc Force: Adjusts the arc dynamics based on the electrode distance from the workpiece, with adjustable parameters from -15 to +15%.
Anti-stick: This feature cuts off the welding current if the electrode short-circuits, allowing for easy detachment from the material.
VRD: This function lowers the idle voltage to a safe level (around 60 V) for users, with the option to enable or disable it.
Electrode Modes: Automatic adjustment of output voltage for various electrode types, with dedicated settings for alkaline (E7018), cellulose (E6010), and rutile (E6013) electrodes.
Overheating Protection (Fan on Demand): The YT-81358’s microprocessor monitors the temperature of critical components in real time and adjusts the fan speed accordingly.
